Struct Registry

Source
pub struct Registry {
    pub components: Vec<ComponentInfo>,
}
Expand description

Ordered built-in component reflection/serialization table. This is distinct from ECS registration: use Self::register for host extensions.

Fields§

§components: Vec<ComponentInfo>

Component metadata in Inspector/serialization order.

Implementations§

Source§

impl Registry

Source

pub fn register_world(&self, world: &mut World)

Registers every metadata type in a fresh world through host-owned callbacks. Needed when loading scenes containing permanent host extension components.

Source

pub fn get(&self, name: &str) -> Option<&ComponentInfo>

Finds metadata by exact component name.

Source

pub fn register<T: Component>(&mut self, world: &mut World)

Registers an editor-visible component in this table and a host world. Re-registering the same type is idempotent. Call only in permanent host code, because native library unloading would invalidate storage/callback vtables.

Source

pub fn of_entity<'a>( &'a self, world: &World, entity: Entity, ) -> Vec<&'a ComponentInfo>

Metadata for components present on this entity, preserving registry order.

Source

pub fn validate_entity(&self, world: &World, entity: Entity) -> Vec<String>

Reports registered component values that cannot round-trip through JSON. Unknown/runtime-only storages are ignored; stale handles return one diagnostic.

Source

pub fn add_named( &self, world: &mut World, entity: Entity, name: &str, ) -> Result<bool, String>

Inserts a default named component only when it is absent. Returns whether insertion occurred; errors report unknown types or stale handles.

Source

pub fn remove_named( &self, world: &mut World, entity: Entity, name: &str, ) -> Result<bool, String>

Removes a named component, enforcing its Inspector removal policy. Returns whether a value existed. Unknown/stale/non-removable requests fail.

Source

pub fn copy_entity(&self, world: &mut World, from: Entity, to: Entity)

Copies every registered component from one entity to another (used for duplicate).

impl<T> Downcast for T
where T: Any,

§

fn into_any(self: Box<T>) -> Box<dyn Any>

Converts Box<dyn Trait> (where Trait: Downcast) to Box<dyn Any>, which can then be downcast into Box<dyn ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
§

fn into_any_rc(self: Rc<T>) -> Rc<dyn Any>

Converts Rc<Trait> (where Trait: Downcast) to Rc<Any>, which can then be further downcast into Rc<ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
§

fn as_any(&self) -> &(dyn Any + 'static)

Converts &Trait (where Trait: Downcast) to &Any. This is needed since Rust cannot generate &Any’s vtable from &Trait’s.
§

fn as_any_mut(&mut self) -> &mut (dyn Any + 'static)

Converts &mut Trait (where Trait: Downcast) to &Any. This is needed since Rust cannot generate &mut Any’s vtable from &mut Trait’s.
§

where T: Any + Send,

§

fn into_any_send(self: Box<T>) -> Box<dyn Any + Send>

Converts Box<Trait> (where Trait: DowncastSend) to Box<dyn Any + Send>, which can then be downcast into Box<ConcreteType> where ConcreteType implements Trait.
